“The choir which is about to perform now is my favourite one. I have enjoyed their melodies for years and they continue to make me strong spiritually,” he said.

The choir was welcomed with cheers and ululations while some members waved Malawian flags in support.

Performing Ndidze Tsono, Samadziwa Kanthu and Musalolere, the group gave an impressive performance.

The choir surprised the gathering with a cultural fusion of Malawian traditional dances were mixed with gospel melodies.

But it was a Manganje version of the song Sindingathe that forced the prophet to join members on the dance floor.

In an interview, group leader Ephraim Zonda said Malawi has deep cultural values which they decided to fuse in their live performances.

“We were delighted with the honour to perform during the service,” he said.
