Chiradzulu Police Station spokesperson Victoria Chirwa said the man, identified as Lloyd Elias comes from Njenjema Village in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Ntchema in Chiradzulu.

She said the suspect, who walked about in the area with the antique guns on his shoulder, surprised a man who mobilised other people and took the suspect to police.

It is not strange for some people, mainly in areas bordering wildlife reserves, to be found with muzzle loader guns which they are suspected to be using when poaching in the reserves.

Chirwa said police are still investigating what Elias was using the guns for. The picture shows the two confiscated firearms.—
