A rare ensemble will take stage at Blantyre Youth Centre on Sunday where Gwamba, Skeffa Chimoto, Katelele Ching’oma, Dictator, Saint, Nepman, Enweezy and Bless K will perform at a concert dubbed Mothers Love.
In preparation for the concert, 5-Star entertainment, organisers of the show recorded Mayi Wathu, a theme song for the event which debuted on radio stations last week.
The performances will be backed by a live band and MBC Radio 2 DJ Ephraim Nyirenda will be on the decks to anchor the performances.
The show, which starts at noon, has been pegged at K1 000 per head.
In an interview, Linda Sekeni, one of the organisers of the concert, said patrons should be ready to be thrilled as they have assembled one of the rarest combinations in Malawian music.
“Imagine Katelele, Gwamba and Skeffa performing at one venue? We have made sure of security at the show so people should not be worried about that. This is family entertainment so they can bring their entire families with them,” said Sekeni.
