After his highly acclaimed collaboration with South African rapper Emtee, gospel hip hop artist Gwamba has done another collaboration with South African top artist Mlindo.
Gwamba announced the collaboration through his Twitter page, which according to the artist is yet to be titled. The artist further said the video of the song will be shot in two weeks’ time with the official release slated for the first week of September.
In another post, the rapper shared a conversation he had with his co-star in which the South African singer is praising the song.
“The song is on fire my G. I can’t stop listening to it,” he said.
In an interview from his base in South Africa (SA), Gwamba said work on the song has been completed though he could not divulge more details for fear of pre-emptying the concept of the song. He further revealed that the new song together with Own Time, which he recently did with Emtee, are just singles and not part of any album project.
Gwamba said: “I will only work on a new album in 2021. The last one I put out last year is still doing great. On that end I should also say I have been impressed with the responses I have received for Own Time. The numbers have been great and it is being featured in major channels every day. “
Since his relocation to SA two years ago, Gwamba has tried to penetrate the regional and international market. His recent collaborations with SA’s top artists are viewed as his first steps towards realising that dream.
“It is a slow process. I don’t expect to be here today and somewhere far tomorrow. But the progress has been good so far. My interest is not only in SA but, Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania too. The potential in these countries excites me so much,” he said.
The artist also said he is in talks with several artists from the mentioned countries and depending on what will be agreed, there should be good news soon from his team.
Mlindo, real name Lingokuhle Magedezi, is popularly known as Mlindo the Vocalist in SA music circles. He is a singer and music writer and he shot to fame following the release of his song Amablesser taken from his debut album Emakhaya.
