MAM Music Awards 2013 Best Urban Hip-Hop/Rap winner, Gwamba, has united with the Sunbird Search for a Star (SSS) 2014 winner, Adrian, to record a song together.

The Lilongwe-based pair confirmed in separate interviews Friday afternoon that they were scheduled to go into the studio the following day to record a song called Sugona Wekha.

Gwamba, born Duncan Zgambo, revealed the track will be on his forthcoming album titled Kudutsa Pakhoma, which is slated for release before summer.

“Yes am recording with Adrian. It’s a song that’s gonna be in my album,” disclosed the 23-year-old rapper who is signed to Blantyre-based artist management company Prime Time Media.

According to Gwamba, an urban artist who is doing well on the local music scene, with his hit singles Bola Kusache, Ndiyima Pachulu and Zimuvuta topping radio and online charts, the new song was to be recorded and produced by Blaq Falcon Bird, popularly known as BFB.

The two artists performed together for the first time on Thursday during designer Lilly Alfonso’s Studio opening in Lilongwe.

They played an acoustic version of Gwamba’s Bola Kusache, with Adrian on the guitar.

Adrian, who is also expected to release his first album titled Paradise this year, said he was excited to be on the same song with one of the country’s celebrated hip-hop artists.

“Gwamba is one of the artists that inspire me a lot and I’m excited about collaborating with him,” said Adrian. “As am planning to release my album soon, I want to work with inspirational artists to get the creative juices going.”

After winning the SSS, the 19-year-old Afro-Soul/Pop singer-cum-guitarist has since released three new singles titled Wandimenyera Nkhondo, When You’re Away and the most recent Touch Your Body which features a new singer from Lilongwe named Sirius.

Kudutsa Pakhoma is Gwamba’s second solo project, following his 2012 mixtape Ghetto Attitude.

The forthcoming recording also features the likes of Bucci, Martse and his label-mate Nesnes, among others, and has renowned produced such as Percy ‘Pro Pee’ Manyozo, Daredevilz, DJ Sley and BFB on it.
