H. Adams Wholesalers donate towards Mr. Zomba
Mr. Zomba Powerlifting and Bodybuilding Competition continues to attract financial support following the injection of K250 000 from H. Adams wholesalers in Zomba
Other sponsors of the event include Bliss Car Hire and Knowledge Invest situated in Zomba, Sanwecka Technologies of Blantyre and Lilongwe-based Metro Sports Shop.
Organising committee member Arthur Limani, who received the cheque on behalf of Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi Eastern Region Chapter, thanked Adams Wholesalers for the gesture.
“This is a timely boost because the tournament will take place next month. Currently, we are at K875 000 and we have a shortfall of K400 000. We are really grateful to Mr. Muhammad Adams for taking an interest in the sport,” he said.
Limani said Mr. Zomba is the most prestigious weightlifting and bodybuilding tournament in the district.
“Every year, youths and residents of Zomba look forward to this event. Youths started training in preparation for this event six months back,” said Limani.
On his part, Adams said he was delighted to support the event.
“It is in line with Vega products that we sell. I am looking forward to a successful competition,” he said.
Adam also pledged increased sponsorship next year. Othaniel Kanyenda of Malawi Defence Force’s Cobbe Barracks is the reigning champion in bodybuilding while Kondwani Mauluka is the current champion in powerlifting
