Home remedies for dry, itchy scalp

Hello Lucy,

I am one of your column’s devoted fans. Your article on 6th February 2011 really touched me as I too have a dry itchy scalp. Could you please help me out on the following?

1.Where can I get this coconut oil that you mentioned?
2. You talked about yoghurt; should I use plain yoghurt or flavoured?
3. If I’m not mistaken, you mentioned three steps; one involving coconut oil followed with yoghurt and a mixture of milk, honey and olive oil. Should I use these three steps at once or are they three different remedies?

Please help me, as I have tried a lot of different oils to get rid of my dandruff and none of them worked. Presently, I wash my hair every week.

I also have a problem with my facial skin; I cannot apply powder because my skin is so sensitive, even baby powder makes me react. I am getting married in July and really need to start wearing make-up. Alternatively, I could do my make-up and skip the powder, but I will need you help on that.

Constance

Beauty Ed’s response

Hello Constance,

Thank you so much for following my column and for emailing me those questions. My computer is being sorted out and I will forward to you all the tips you have asked for as soon as I am back on line.

Keep reading and God bless!

 Lucy Kwengwere-Nkonjera.
