The other week, I penned off by asking that you take some time to ask the Lord to show you some of the false beliefs guiding your life and how these affect your relationships—in the way you relate to yourself, others and vice-versa. Did you? How was your reaction? Were you defensive, hurt, ashamed or self-piteous? Do you know that strongholds and mindsets come from habits and beliefs we continuously hold on to in our lives? O virtuous woman, let me tell you one thing. Habits uncorrected are habits repeated and habits repeated are results repeated. Basically, this means that if you keep on doing the same thing, the same way, you will keep on getting same results.
When you think about one of the relationships in your life, you will find that emotions such as anger, bitterness and self pity are the direct result of false beliefs you have had over situations. And for you to be restored to the virtuous woman you ought to be, you must begin to embrace the biblical truth that your value is based solely on who you are (identity)!
It is extremely important, therefore, that we correctly deal with and manage our mindsets. I believe the greatest killer disease on the earth is not tuberculosis, malaria, cancer or Aids. The greatest killer disease is a negative mental attitude. You want to remain healthy, therefore? Let Philippians 4:8 be your portion – Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things honest, whatsoever things just, whatsoever things pure, whatsoever things lovely, whatsoever things of good report; if there be any virtue and if any praise, think on these things!
Nurture great thoughts, for you will never go higher than your thoughts. Remember the verse As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he – Proverbs 23:7!
Seriously, we need to give the Holy Spirit permission to expose our hearts because often, we try to change our emotions without understanding that it is our beliefs that drive our emotions.
