Skeffa Chimoto said he feels empty when he is away from his family on Christmas or New Year.

He said: “Despite all the support that I render to my family, I still feel empty when I am away from home on Christmas or New Year. They need my presence but sometimes it is understandable considering the nature of our work as artists.”

Urban musician Piksy said there is always conflict of interest between family matters and career, especially during festive seasons.

He said: “Most of artists including me, are always in a tight schedule during festive seasons. This usually puts me at a fix as I try to balance family matters and work. Otherwise I cannot deny Christmas bookings for they help me put bread and butter on the table and plan for the New Year financially.”

Gospel musician Gloria Manong’a Kampingo this afternoon will be performing at a gospel concert at Phalombe’s Michesi school hall. But she said she can celebrate Christmas anytime and with anyone, anywhere.

She said: “A s a messenger of God’s word, I can celebrate Christmas anytime and anywhere. What matters most to me is the sharing of the word of God.”
