HTD Limited on Tuesday boosted the game of darts in the country by giving K500 000 (about $1 250) to HTD Blantyre Sports Club Darts Team.

In an interview after receiving the donation, the team’s secretary Dean Pinto thanked HTD Limited for the sponsorship, which the team has been lacking for the past seven years.

He said they will use the money to pay affiliation fees, buy dart boards and travel to Lilongwe for the darts Presidential Cup.

HTD senior executive, Ziyaad Sidik, said the sponsorship will be released in tranches to meet their team needs.

He also said at the end of the season the sponsorship may be more than the K500 000 presented on Tuesday, but they are ready to foot the whole bill.
