Huawei Technologies Company Limited has today pumped in K3. 2 million to Engineering students at The Polytechnic, a constituent College of the University of Malawi towards their symposium scheduled for Friday.

The theme for the symposium,  which will be held at Armalyis Hotel in Blantyre, is ‘Environmentally Sustainable Engineering Solutions Through Mordern Technologies’.

Huawei Technologies’ deputy chief executive officer,Titus Tasosa, said they believe in developing information,  communication and technology skills while believing in technology innovations the students have come up with,  which he said have potential to attract funding.

He also said the theme for the symposium is in line with thier objectives as a company.

Representing fellow students, Hastings Banda thanked Huawei for the donation, saying it will go a long way in resolving some of the challenges the students were facing in organising the symposium.

“We have a budget of K10 million but some potential donors have made pledges, so we are really greatful for this,” he said.

Huawei has since urged training institutions in  the country to come up with programmes that resonate with market demands to cope up with emerging technologies.
