If I were: Atupele Muluzi

Listen to this article

If I were Atupele Muluzi, the President of the United Democratic Front (UDF), I would appreciate that it is about time I acknowledged that my involvement with government is further weakening the party as not all members are happy with the alliance.
If I were ‘Ung’onoung’ono’, I would appreciate that it is clear that my party has no clear direction and the sooner I address the situation, the better.

Oh yes, I would realise that when there is a suggestion for my party MPs to sit on the government side in Parliament, then it is now crystal clear that the once mighty UDFs is losing the plot and that its future is hanging by a thread.
Perhaps if I were my man Atupele, I would realise the need to call for a convention to hear the party members’ views on this matter. Otherwise, the picture being portrayed out there is that ndapatsidwa chibanzi which I can hardly resist.
That is if only I were the Agenda For Change guru. Unfortunately, I am just Garry Chirwa.
