Illegal entry costs Malawians minibuses

Two businesspeople in Karonga have lost their minibuses registration numbers KA 6233 and NB 2781 for aiding illegal entry of immigrants. Mzuzu Police spokesperson Maurice Chapola on Tuesday identified the two as Jonathan Kambauwa, 32, of Njewa Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kapondo in Mchinji and Austin Msiska ,24, of Mphalamawe Village, T/A Mwamlowe in Rumphi. Chapola said the two vehicles were forfeited and have since been allocated to the Judiciary. He said the court also fined the two K20 000 each or in default to serve 18 months imprisonment with hard labour. —GEORGE SINGINI, Staff Reporter
