However strong one might be, there comes a time when one needs a shoulder to cry on. Musician Fredokiss leads a movement, Ghetto Shoulder Initiative,  that offers such a shoulder.

On Sunday, January 25, the Ghetto Shoulder Initiative donated various items to 38 households in the villages of Mtambalika, Matope and Mlanga in Ndirande Township in Blantyre which were affected by heavy rains that caused massive damage across the country about two weeks ago.

In an interview with The Nation, the Kunditcha Fredo hit-maker said they opted for Ndirande because less attention had been given to the victims in the township compared to others.

“We targeted 25 households but when we went to the victims’ houses we were touched. We ended up reaching out to 38 households. Some were orphans, people with physical disabilities and other vulnerable people,” said Fredokiss.

Other members of the Ghetto Shoulder Initiative such as Jose Vieila and Ace Dirty and members of Young Christian Women Association were also part of the charity event.

The initiative plans to cheer other affected families in Soche, Blantyre, and they are appealing for non-cash donations from well-wishers for the cause.
