Said Inkosi M’mbelwa: “As you all know, next year we will have an election. So let me take this opportunity to urge you to go and register and vote. I know that voter registration has not yet started in Mzimba, but all I am saying is, when that time comes, go in your large numbers to register and vote.

“That is the only way you can choose leaders you want, if you register and vote. Those who have not performed can only be defeated through that way, the ballot power.”

In his remarks, Mutharika called for unity, love and peace among Malawians, saying fights and hate will destroy this country.

He commended the Ngoni chiefs for preserving culture, saying as far as national development is concerned, culture cannot be substituted. n
