Innobuild Private Limited on Friday handed over a four-toilet block worth K850 000 to Dunduzu Primary School in Mzuzu.

This comes as a response to this year’s World Toilet Day report which indicated that over one million households in the country do not have proper toilets.

Speaking during the handover, Innobuild regional manager (North) Gift Nyasulu said as property developers, it was relevant for them to promote hygiene in public places.

“Our core business is selling plots. It is important therefore to demonstrate the need for each household to have a proper toilet. The school had few toilets and we came in to assist so that our pupils should learn in a conducive environment,” he said.

Dunduzu Primary School head teacher Medias Lwesya hailed Innobuild for the support, saying the school only had 12 toilets serving over 1000 pupils.

“With the construction of these additional toilets, we believe it will ease the congestion of learner to toilet ratio,” he said.

Three months ago, Innobuild also donated Covid-19 preventive equipment at Mzuzu Main Market.
