Financial services group Nico Holdings Limited has said innovation and customer care are key to business growth, hence the company’s continued commitment to staff development.
Nico Holdingsmanaging director Vizenge Kumwenda said this in an interview on Thursday on the sidelines of an award presentation ceremony to outstanding employees in all of its subsidiaries held at the company’s head office in Blantyre. .
“We realise that for the group to move forward, every member of staff has to be part of that effort, hence the awards to encourage our staff to work hard.
“We want to remain being the top financial services group in the country. This is to encourage our staff to do well and also as a token of appreciation to our employees who have done well,” he said.
Kumwenda said the company has started the year on a good note despite the challenging operating business environment.
One of the awarded employees, Chimwemwe Siwole, a technical officer at Nico Life Insurance Company, thanked the company for the award, saying it will motivate her to continue working hard.
Third-placed winners in all categories received cash prizes of K25 000 while second-placed winners got K50 000. The first-place winners took home K75 000. n
