If the coming of many hip-hop artists is anything to go by, then Malawi is headed in the right direction. At least that is the belief of a Lilongwe based up and coming rapper Bizzyb.
Born Bestone James Sagawa on June 21 1994, Bizzyb as he wants to be known musically, is signed to Visionary Media Entertainment which he co-owns.
His passion for music dates way back.
“I have always had the passion of music since Grade 3 with the late Vic Marley as my idol. I recorded and released first and only mixtape titled The Me That Is in 2013,” he said in an interview.
Bizzyb has resurfaced with a new album which he says it’s mind blowing.
“This year, I recorded my first ever small complication of music you release before an album. The title is Prove Myself and the CDs which are currently on sale were released on June 1. Due to much love and support that fans have been showing, I just had to launch the compilation.
“The launch is going to be at a party not a musical show. This party will give people the opportunity to know more about Bizzyb and also get to know more people. This party will take place this week at Champions Sports Club behind Amazon Club, formerly called Zanzi.
“Supporting artists Phrey Willz, Blessed B, Capital Gal and Free Minded. These were featured on the compilation,” he says.
Activities at the party include HD photo shoot, mic battles, dance battles, open mic session and disco.
Apart from music, Bizzyb is also an actor with Chikwatu Arts Theatre and also stars in Secrets, a series which will soon be aired Zodiak Television.
