Idrissah: We support farmers

After leading religious bodies in praying for good rains two weeks ago, the Islamic Relief Agency (IRA) — in appreciation that God answered the prayers— on Wednesday distributed hoes to over 200 farming Malawian families in Blantyre.

IRA’s projects officer Sheikh Cassim Idrissah said the donation symbolised the importance of farming as the backbone of Malawi’s economy.

“We cannot talk of agriculture if there is no farming equipment such as hoes, pangas and axes; hence, our contribution.

“IRA has distributed the hoes at Bvumbwe, Zimba and Mombo in Chileka and Kachere so that people can start preparing their gardens,” said Idrissah.
