Italy-based Cameroonian Fifa players’ agent Flavien Tchoumbou has linked up with local agent Prince Jere to facilitate professional deals for TNM Super League and women football players in European leagues.

Tchoumbou, who claims to have brokered deals for Samuel Eto’o and Ndiefi, said he has researched on Malawi football and he is satisfied that there is abundant football skill.

The development comes at a time the number of Malawian footballers playing in European leagues has drastically declined from six to one in the past decade.

Tawonga Chimodzi, who plays for a Greek Second Division side Iraklis Psachna, is the only Malawian playing football in Europe now.

Tchoumbou and Jere have since forwarded their letter of working together to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) so that they can be allowed to operate in the country.

According to Tchoumbou, his Dynamic Management Agency will be working with Jere to identify both male and female players for trials in Italy and France.

“I have learnt that Malawi has a lot of talented players, but they lack international exposure, especially in Europe. We want to be a bridge for such talent to cross to Europe,” Tchoumbou said in an e-mail message.

Jere said the challenge now will be to produce video clips of the preferred footballers in the local leagues for perusal abroad.

“Most local players’ performances are currently not available on camera. We have to start this project from scratch. However, as long as FAM and Sulom allow us to carry out our operations, everything will be on track soon,” said Jere.
