The People’s Party (PP) administration is committed to improving lives of farmers in the country: Banda

President Joyce Banda has said the People’s Party (PP) administration is committed to improving lives of farmers in the country by teaching them better farming methods and providing agricultural equipment.
Banda said this at Nankumba in Mangochi yesterday where she addressed a rally as part of the ongoing political campaign, a second in the district where she held one on Sunday, a day after launching the party’s campaign in Lilongwe.
She said her government would continue the Farm Input Subsidy Programme (Fisp) if she is voted into power on May 20 and that she wants farmers to cultivate at least twice every year.
Banda also pledged to improve the health and education sector by building a school and a health centre in the area, whose preparations are already underway.
The President also called for a clean campaign ahead of the May 20 Tripartite Elections, calling all political leaders to encourage their supporters to desist from violence.
She said it is the duty of every party leader to ensure that their parties are promoting political co-existence.
