JB in South Korea for Global Development Summit

The First Couple soon after arriving in Korea | The Nation Online President Joyce Banda arrived in South Korea on Tuesday to attend the Global Development Summit at the 2013 Special Olympics Winter Games in PyeongChang. Banda, who is expected to deliver a keynote address at the summit, arrived at Incheon International Airport, Seoul, at around 4pm.

She was welcomed by Malawi Ambassador Reuben Ngwenya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abel Kayembe, South Korea Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Kyou-hyun, representatives of the Special Olympics International and other dignitaries. The President went to South Korea after attending an African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government Summit in Ethiopia. The pictures below highlight the President’s arrival in Korea and the AU summit engagements and other local events in the week.
