JB_tobacco_closeupPresident Joyce Banda on Wednesday met tobacco buyers at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre to discuss pertinent issues of the sector ahead of this year’s marketing season which opens next week.  According to authorities, this year’s minimum price for burley tobacco has been set at an average $1.76 per kilogramme.  In the picture, Banda stands with some of the tobacco buyers and other stakeholders as she talks to Minister of Agriculture and Food Security James Munthali while his deputy Bintony Kutsaira (far left) looks on.—INNOCENT HELEMA, Staff Reporter
