Nigerian gospel singer Jimmy D Psalmist will perform in Malawi for the second time on July 7 at Comesa Hall in Blantyre as part of his Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) tour.

He thrilled Lilongwe fans last month with a show that left many asking for more at Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc) in Lilongwe.

However, his return is an advantage to Blantyre fun lovers as he will perform in the city. The tour has been organised by Jacobs Management Media.

In an interview, Jacobs Management Media coordinator DJ Maya said the show is to allow Blantyre fans to sample his music.

“We want to take advantage of the tour to host him again. There were concerns from Blantyre and Lilongwe. So, this time we are going to Blantyre and we ask Lilongwe fans to join us there,” he said.

Earlier this week, the award-winning artist, famous for his song Mighty Man of War, posted on his Instagram: “Malawi it’s happening again, Lilongwe was on fire… Blantyre promises to be another level”.

Musician Wendy Harawa, who is part of the organising team, has asked Blantyre fans to come out in large numbers, saying the artist does not disappoint.

Some of his famous songs to watch out include I Trust in You, Great Mighty, Power of the Blood, Great and Terrible and El’igwe.

Six months into the year, Malawi has hosted Nigerian gospel Songstress Sinach, South African gospel musician Benjamin Dube and South-African trio of Destruction Boys. n
