Osman: I did not resign

In twists and turns of sheer comedy, Isaac Jomo Osman has announced that he has rescinded his decision to quit as Big Bullets’ main supporters committee chairperson.

Osman quit the position last month, citing internal misunderstandings and politicking as the main reason.

“I did not tender in a resignation letter and after a second thought, I have reconsidered my decision because by quitting, I will not be serving the best interests of the team.

“As I said, the club is not being well managed and there are lots of administrative shortfalls and I will not be doing this team or its followers any good if I quit,” said Osman.

He claimed that the club’s leadership is using dictatorial tendencies to run the team and that the club’s finances are not being accounted for citing the proceeds from the sale of products from the dealership with TNM, sales from golf shirts and Fischer Kondowe’s stickers.

”I, therefore, hope that in the same manner that the trustees prevented the chairperson from resigning, I will also be allowed to continue,” he said.

But Msungama laughed off Osman’s claims.

“In as far as we are concerned, he made a public announcement that he had quit and the trustees endorsed his resignation. He did not resign at gun point, he quit voluntarily.

“Bruce Tambwali, who was the vice-chairperson, is now the chairperson. Jomo is also missing the point by comparing his resignation with my intention to quit. He resigned, while mine was a mere intention and the trustees advised me not to. Maybe if he had consulted before he announced, it could have made sense and now he is crying over spilt milk,” said the outspoken Msungama.
