Joyce Banda

President of the Republic of Malawi, I would do something about the growing number of strikes in the country.

If I were my good mum that is JB, I would appreciate that the on-going strikes have the potential to cripple the operations of the country as well as the economy; hence, the need for my immediate intervention.

How I wish I were the President, because I would have also taken the opportunity of my People’s Party’s (PP) convention to state how my government will tackle the rising issues of crime as well as the strikes for higher pay that have rocked the country.

Yes, since taking over government, I have tried my best to turn things around such as winning back donor confidence, but I would still appreciate that there is a lot more that needs my urgent attention.

I would further appreciate that the way the Ministry of Labour is handling the issue of strikes is fire-fighting and, therefore, there is need to come up with a proper solution to address it once and for all.

That is, of course, if I were my good mum that is Joyce Mtila-Banda. Unfortunately, I am not the President of the Republic of Malawi.
