President of the Republic of Malawi, I would not defy the call to slow down on my visits across the country to distribute relief food to Malawians affected by hunger.
If I were my good mum, I would take advice from the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) to ease down a gear on such errands because they are costly and being politicised.
I would certainly heed the advice that such tasks can be performed by relief organisation officials or indeed traditional leaders.
If only I were Madam Joyce-Banda, I would appreciate that by being adamant, I am losing the plot as the concern is coming from Malawians.
If I were the President, I would realise that at the rate I am going, it will not be surprising to hear that I have even started distributing bonya.
I would appreciate the importance of being a listening leader as people have different perceptions on the way I am distributing the food.
That is if only I were my good ‘ole mum Joyce! Unfortunately, I am not her.
