Joyful Souls member opens school
Joyful Souls’ Arthur Chidothe has demonstrated that music and entrepreneurial skills can go together.
The 31 year old is running a guitar school which opened its doors last month at Chilobwe Township in Blantyre.
Chidothe, one of the founding members of the group, revealed this in an interview last Monday. He said he nurtured the dream to establish such a school for a long time.
Chidothi said the dream bothered him a lot when he was still searching for employment.
“I was a part-time producer at Ralph Ching’amba’s Ralph Records in 2008. One client openly admired the way I plucked the guitar. He actually asked me to consider teaching him, and that was it.
“He made me realise the potential I knew I had. In no time, we were having sessions behind the studio at Namiyango,” he said.
The bass vocalist also said he started with four students before the number rose to 15.
