While all is set for the show that is billed to take many of the old generation down memory lane, organisers say they are still working on supporting acts.

“We are looking at the local artists to perform on the night but for now, I am the only one confirmed. So what we are doing now is to urge all our fans to go to Impact Events Facebook page and www.sandmusicfestival.com to vote for the artist they want to perform alongside Judy Boucher. The one with the highest number of votes, will definitely be at Bicc on February 14,” Lucius Banda who is also Sand Festival director.

Otherwise, he said, all is set for the concert, which is targeting the older generation.

“Having brought in Jamaican artist Busy Signal during the 2015 Sunbird Sand Festival and South African Trademark famed for the hit Shumaya which targeted the current generation, it is now time to reach out to the older generation.

“Our goal is to entertain all classes and ages of fans. She is 63 and her music resonates with the old generation. After all, it does not mean when you grow old, you can’t have fun.” Lucius aka Soldier said.

“It is worth noting that the response is overwhelming from partners as well as the old generation. This is pushing us to do more and better. So far, we have paid binding fee as such, I can confidently confirm that Boucher will be in Malawi on February 14,” he explained.

Considered one of the best singers across the globe, Boucher launched her solo career in 1985 with a hit Dreaming Of A Little Island, after being in her brother’s band Judy Jack and the Beanstalk.

The Caribbean then released another bombshell Can’t Be With You Tonight, which made a break-through and reached position 2 in UK singles chart in 1987.

Some of the popular albums Boucher has churned out include Tears On My Pillow released in 1993, Devoted To You in 1994, Take Me As I Am in 1996 and 2007’s Sunshine and Dreams.
