Jussab, Mvula win Nico Life Golf

Iqbar Jussab and Dan Mvula scored 84 points to go ahead of Duncan Chadzakufa and Stella Ng’oma’s 82 points to win the Nico Life Golf which was played in stablefold multiplier format.

The invitational golf, which was hosted by Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC), drew a field of 106 golfers from across the country.

The pair of LGC chairperson William Mathambo and Jeremiah Magaba was third with 70 points. Thakar Sanjay and Mukeshi Vashi were fourth with 69 points

Nearest to the pin was Henry Mthinda and Mike Kilner got the longest drive. Both Mvula and Jussab got a golf bag each as a prize plus a trophy each.

The two champions were ecstatic after the victory.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our golf and beating tough competition there makes this sweeter,” said Mvula.

He also thanked Nico Life for sponsoring the tournament and also for the “wonderful prizes”.

Nico Life chief executive officer Osman Karim, said as sponsors, they were grateful for the turnout.

“Having 106 golfers participating in our tournament is gratifying and we thank everyone who has come today. Through this sport we are able to interact with our customers and get feedback on the services we offer you,” said Karim.

He also took time to thank LGC management for the success of the tournament.

LGC acting captain Thakar Mahindra thanked Nico Life for being true partners of golf and also for choosing LGC to host the tournament.

“You (Nico Life) play an important role in the development of golf. We are always grateful to you. I also thank you golfers for turning out in large numbers,” said Mahindra

Prior to the presentation ceremony, Scott Grey mesmerised golfers and guest with his stand-up comedy performance and also his music.
