Be Forward Wanderers have a chance to have their annual sponsorship increased by $20 000 (about K15 million) should they win the TNM Super League title.

According to the contract with their sponsors Be Forward Limited, which Nation Online has seen, the Nomads are entitled to a $20 000 increase every year they win the title in their current three year deal pegged at $200 000 (about K150 million).

Wanderers are in a two-horse race with their age-old rivals Nyasa Big Bullets who lead by a point with two games each to the end of the season.

Club chairperson Gift Mkandawire confirmed the development, saying: “Under such circumstances, it will be painful not to win the title this season because we will lose an opportunity to get an extra K15 million for next season.

“It’s a condition in the contract and the players are well aware of that.”

Team captain Alfred Manyozo Jnr also confirmed that they are aware of that clause.

“It is like an extra motivation, considering the financial challenges the team is facing.

“As it stands, the odds favour Bullets, but we will fight to the very end,” he said.

The Nomads reportedly owe the players bonuses for 12 matches.
