K5m FAM  Cup beach  soccer  November 7

Beach Soccer Malawi (BSM) has announced that the national finals of the K5 million ($9,091) beach soccer tournament will be held on November 7 at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima.

Four teams—Nkopola from Mangochi, Livingstonia from Salima, Nyerere Stars of Chintheche and Young Stars of Karonga—will fight in the national finals.

Making the announcement in Lilongwe, BSM general secretary Davis Sado explained that regional tournament, of the cup have been running in all the four playing centre of Karonga, Chintheche, Salima and Mangochi from where the four emerged victors after accumulating more points.

“The cup is being sponsored by the country’s football body FAM to the tune of K5 million. So far, we have used K3 million for the regional tournaments. We have budgeted K2 million for the national finals,” said Sado.

In a related development, FAM has organised a week-long seminar for referees from November 2 at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach.
