On the other hand, the wellness conference will run up to September 19 and will be held at College of Medicine (CoM) from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

A member of the organising committee for the activities, Elias Kaunda, said the church intends to assist over 1 000 people from various institutions and localities during the health expo.

He said the health expo will take place at lunch hour in selected institutions in order to address some of the health and lifestyle problems people in the working class face.

“On Tuesday we will be at Malawi Savings Bank [MSB] head office, on Wednesday we are going to be at Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi [Escom], on Thursday we will be at NBS Bank head office, and we will be at Malawi Telecommunications Limited [MTL] on Friday,” said Kaunda.

He said the health outreach, during which, among others, people will be taught how they can use nutrition to prevent health problems, will be open to members of the general public at CoM sports complex throughout the days set aside for the wellness conference
