Super League debutants Kabwafu FC are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to succeed. They have hired former Civo United coach Oscar Kaunda.

Kaunda left Civo a couple of seasons ago and has been coaching Mzuzu-based Super Eagles.

Kabwafu chairperson Samson Jere, team manager Starvens Zgambo and Kaunda himself confirmed the development.

“It is true Kaunda is with us at Kabwafu. We hope he is going to be comfortable with our offers and services. He is due to start his job this Tuesday morning. We will update you on what will transpire,” said Jere.

Zgambo said they are impressed by Kaunda’s curriculum vitae on and off the field and they had no choice but to rope him in.

Kaunda posses a C licence and a Fifa High Level coaching certificate.

At Kabwafu, Kaunda joins coaches Pasco Chirwa and Zondi Chirwa who were behind the team’s promotion to the Super League.

Last month, Kabwafu, which is a Mzimba-based tobacco grading company side, roped in four players from Chitipa-based Impala FC.
