Members of Ndirande Kachere CCAP Church in Blantyre last Sunday wore smiling faces after raising K500 000 (about $1 250) for the day-to-day running of church operations.

The open day was spiced up by upcoming gospel musician Steven Muliya who kept the faithful on their toes, dancing to his tunes.

In his sermon, Naotcha CCAP Church session clerk, a Mr Chirwa, challenged the Christians to trust God as their shepherd in line with Psalms 23.

Before the fundraising activities, an executive member of Ndirande Kachere CCAP Church, Henry Chiphaka, provided the background of the church to new members.

Chiphaka said the church was an offshoot of Saint Michael and All Angels and was designated a prayer house in 1992.

“Before coming here, we were congregating at Ndirande Primary School. The church now has over 3 000 members.

“We are now building a manse, which is in its final stages. Previously, we were accommodating our deputy general secretaries at Blantyre Synod premises,” said Chiphaka.
