Robert Kachiza has decided to slip back to the amateur ranks.
He has since admitted that his opponent was well ahead of him in terms of fitness during their fight also watched by Minister of Sports and Youth Development Grace Chiumia.
The bantamweight boxer has so far lost three bouts and won 10 on technical knock-out since he graduated from the amateur ranks in 2013.
According to Kachiza, it is better to fight in the ranks where he gets no pressure from anybody.
“I will return to the amateur ranks where I always had peace of mind,” he said.
But MPBCB spokesperson Frank Chibisa said the boxer has the right and freedom to choose which side of the coin he would like to belong to.
“We cannot force him to remain in professional boxing if he wants to leave?” he said.
