Kamanga, Msoliza triumph in boxing fiesta

Mzuzu based professional boxers Mwayi Kamanga and Earnest Msoliza emerged victorious from a boxing fiesta on Sunday at Obrigado Leisure Park in Mzuzu.
Kamanga, 27, defeated Lameck Kangama from Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe while Msoliza outclassed Bright Mdoka from Zomba.
Kamanga’s win over Kangama has put his professional winning bouts to four.

With the victory, Kamanga cemented his status as the greatest pound-for-pound boxer of his generation.
“I am happy to have won win this fight. It seems my vision of becoming the best boxer in this generation is being realised. I am informing my fans to expect more,” said Kamanga.
Other bouts that characterised the festival, include the fight between Tanzanian Yahaya Mayipopa against Bright Mdoka which Mdoka lost.
Triffa Phiri defeated Lewis Nkhata while Wilfred Nyambose triumphed over Patrick Kaira.
In an interview, boxing promoter Joe Nyirongo said he will continue supporting boxing so as to put Malawian boxers on the world map.
“My coming in boxing is not temporal, I am here to stay. I want to ensure that I assist government in putting Malawian boxers on the global map.
