Kambale, who secured 21 points, attributed his victory to instensive training out of his tight busy schedule.

“I had two birdies. I also thank my playing partners who were more than serious,” he said.

Kambale, who is also president of Golfers Union of Malawi (GUoM) added that he is poised to win more tournaments this year and next year.

“I want to demonstrate that as president, I do play golf and that I can win trophies,” said Kambale.

In the women’s category, Terri Amaro was excited to be crowned champion.

“This is a historic moment for me because winning the trophy is no mean thing,” she said.

For Masm chief commercial officer Andrew Ngomwa, the event was geared at ensuring that they bring their business close to more business captains.

“We shall be back soon. The event has given us a chance to interact with captains of industry to know what we could offer them best,” said Ngomwa.

The tournament, which took place at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC), attracted 40 golfers.
