Kamwendo and Mzava, from TP Mazembe of DR Congo and Mpumalanga Black Aces in South Africa respectively, were joining the training session later in the day. The Flames training started yesterday.

Polokwane City’s seasoned forward Kanyenda confirmed on Monday that he was ready to fight for a place in the squad that is fresh from winning 2015 Cosafa Plate trophy in South Africa.

Kanyenda said he skipped the Cosafa Cup to offer up-and-coming players a chance to prove themselves.

The Flames will train for a week then proceed to Egypt for Monday’s warm up match for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.

Malawi host Zimbabwe in mid-June in a Group L opener whereas Egypt are tuning up for Afcon Group G qualifiers against Nigeria, Tanzania and Chad.

Egypt have chosen to play Malawi and Burundi on June 8 and 12 because the two opponents are readily available on the said dates, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on its website on Wednesday.
