Premier Soccer League (PSL) website reported yesterday that Kanyenda’s goals pushed him into the 16-member division’s fourth top scorer with eight goals, six behind leading scorer Nkosinathi Mthinyane of Thanda Royal Zulu.

Sphesihle Nzimande scored Polokwane’s other goal as they remain seventh on 40 points on the standings to boost their promotion play-off prospects.

Peter Wadabwa’s Zulu cut leaders Mpumalanga Black Aces’ lead to just a point after a 2-0 win over Sivuta Stars. Thanda have 46 points. Wadabwa has five league goals this campaign.

Up the PSL, Robert Ng’ambi is now second-placed Platinum Stars joint leading scorer on eight goals after striking in 2-1 loss to Golden Arrows on Sunday.

Stars, who crashed out of Nedbank Cup semi-final on Wednesday, seem to be losing their title chase as they remain on 53 points with one more game played than leaders Kaizer Chiefs who have 56 points.
