Kanyenda (C), who appeared in high spirits, is met on arrival by Flames liaison officer James Sangala (R) and former Big Bullets FC general secretary Higger Mkandawire.

Esau Kanyenda flew into the country through Chileka International Airport yesterday afternoon aboard a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg ahead of Saturday’s make-or-break 2015 Afcon qualifier against Mali’s Eagles.

Inspirational midfielder Robert Ng’ambi also flew in yesterday through Kamuzu International Airport.

However, captain Joseph Kamwendo missed his flight in Johannesburg because the flight from his base in Lubumbashi, DR Congo, was delayed.

The Flames skipper said arrangements were being made for him to travel today.

He is the only one yet to join the squad.
