Second-from-bottom TNM Super League side Karonga United say they respect Red Lions going into today’s second-round meeting at Balaka Stadium.

United general secretary Gospel Selemani commented on the game following their last week’s 2-1 third win over the season over fancied Mighty Wanderers.

“My team is well organised and ready to meet Red Lions. We are not challenging, but anything can happen in the game of football. The win against Wanderers was what we expected during our game planning,” said Selemani on Friday.

United go into the game on 13 points from 21 games whereas the Lions are smarting from last week’s 4-1 and 1-0 defeats by Civo United and Kamuzu Barracks. The Lions are fifth on 32 points from 22 games.

Lottie Chawinga and Kumbukani Mwambeni are the men that coach Collins Nkuna would look up to when welcoming the Karonga rookies in Balaka. United are yet to win away whereas the Lions have won six of their away 11 matches.

Monday 13th October, 2014 fixtures:
