Karonga sneak out of relegation zone

Karonga United are out of the 2016 TNM Super League relegation zone following their 3-2 win over Dwangwa United on Monday at Mzuzu Stadium.

This is the third win for Karonga in the top flight league thanks to Khumbo Msowoya’s hat-trick.

Dwangwa scored their goals through Kingsley Kazandira and Jack Chiona.

With the win, the Karonga District-based side have moved up to position 13 with 14 points from 16 games.

Speaking after the match,  Karonga United coach Kondwani Mwalweni said it is good that they have started the second round on a high note having collected maximum points.

“It was not a simple game, but finally we have won and got maximum points. Our target is to ensure that we win all our home games,”he said.

Dwangwa coach Macdonald Mtetemera accepted the defeat saying there is a lot to be done to start registering wins.

Dwangwa are now on position 15 with 11 points from 16 games. They have won only two games drawn five and lost nine. n
