Former chairperson of the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) the Very Reverend Father Constantine Kaswaya passed away yesterday afternoon at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre after a short illness.
Confirming the development, the Right Reverend Bishop Brighton Malasa, chairperson of the Anglican Council in Malawi, said the late Kaswaya was taken to the hospital on Monday complaining of asthma.
Malasa said the burial date for the departed father has not yet been decided and the media and the entire nation will be updated once all arrangements have been made.
The late Kaswaya served as PAC chairperson for two terms and he was head of the committee when it, together with other civil society organisations, campaigned against presidential third term amendment. He also acted as Bishop of Anglican Diocese for Southern Malawi
