Former boxing promoter Justice Katika— who is vying for Malawi Boxing Association (Maba) presidency—has unveiled his plans ahead of the polls scheduled for Lilongwe on Saturday.
Katika said should he be elected, he will set up clear structures at regional and district level to ensure smooth development of the sport.

“We need to set up proper structures right from the grassroots so that we can have a clear development plan. I will also source equipment which is one of the factors hindering the development of the sport in the country.
Apart from the elections, the meeting, according to outgoing secretary Phellah Nyirenda, has been called to address problems which led to the suspension of Maba from International Boxing Association (IBA).
Nyirenda also said participation at the EGM will strictly be by invitation.
The hot seat of presidency has attracted Katika, Atusaye Mwafulirwa and Leonard Tilingamawa while Pyson Likagwa, Darlingtone Ndasauka and Happy Kumwenda will contest for the vice-presidency.
Outgoing secretary Nyirenda will face Sekani Chenda-Mkandawire, Innocent Letaie Chakudza and Joster Chisale.
The position of vice-secretary has attracted Denise Chavula, Elson Mankhomwa, Pax Matipwiri and Gowa-Banda while outgoing treasurer Razack Nkata is set to go unopposed.
Zacharia Kasakula, Memory Namutambo, Elia Kamphinda, Cornelius Kakwesa and Golodi Phiri will contest for four executive membership. 
