Friday night presented face-to-face fun for over 50 advent listeners of Zokonda Amayi programme as MBC gave them a live treat at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre.

It was a women’s night.  Those who call, send letters and text messages to the morning programme met for the first time and jived to the tunes of Dygo Dance Troupe and hitmakers who top the list of requests: Dan Lu and Thocco Katimba.

The jam heightened as the women danced to Katimba’s Anaphiri and Dan Lu’s Mphete.

“It was a pleasant feeling meeting these women who at times request for my songs,” said Dan Lu who electrified the mood.

For presenter Gloria Banda, it felt great to bring the ladies together as “most of them don’t know each other” and the night was “an opportunity for them to come together.”

One of the women, Jacqueline Mlaviwa said the night was splendid because she interacted with like-minded ladies.

“It was a night to learn new social skills, discover new business links and also learn beauty tips,” said Mlaviwa.

Women’s rights activist Emma Kaliya was  the guest of honour.

Also in attendance was Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu and MBC-TV director general Benson Tembo.
