Dates for Osgood Kayuni’s trip to the Phillipines and Agnes Mtimaukanena’s outing to Dubai for international title bouts have been shifted by the organisers.
Kayuni’s World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Oriental Super Lightweight bout against Phillipino Jay Salmiano has been changed from November 30 to December 13 while Mtimaukanena’s fight has been rescheduled to November 21 from November 16.
According to Ngumi Boxing Promotions manager Steven Msiska, promoters decided to shift the fights to give themselves enough room for preparations.
“As you know, there are so many things involved in arranging such international title bouts such as pre-ticket sales, press conferences and medical check-ups.
“So, the organisers have decided to extend the period for the momentum to buildup,†said Msiska, who links with the international boxing promoters.
Meanwhile, Msiska has said Kayuni is supposed to be in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, three weeks prior to the Philippine bout for final preparations whereas Mtimaukanena will fly to Dubai three days before her bout.
