Zama Boxing Promotion has changed Osgood Kayuni’s opponent in the international non-title match at the BAT Ground on March 27.

Kayuni will now face Moses Mwaluwanda after his initial opponent, Yusuf Saleh, refused to reduce his weight for the junior welterweight fight.

“Salehe refused to shed his weight by two kilogrammes. He was supposed to be at par with Kayuni on 64kg, but did not accept. Probably, he has just chickened out after learning about Kayuni’s record. Nevertheless, Kayuni will face another opponent,” said Zama Boxing Promotion spokesperson George Matipwiri.

On his part, Kayuni said he has intensified his preparations for his first international bout in two years.

“I do not care whether I will face a different opponent all together. All I want is to revive my career and enhance my record on the international stage. My punches itch for an international bout and whoever is coming should expect a knockout defeat,” Kayuni said.

Matipwiri said they have also lined up supporting bouts.

Roy Yuda will take on Kudakhwashe Banda in the main supporting bout while Brian Mwando, Shaf Ajibu, and Jonas Kakwere will square off against Mussa Mkwanda, Lameck Mkamanga and Kuda Kuminga respectively.

Boniface Stenala will fight Yusuf Ali whereas Byson Gwayani will face Alexander Likande.

In bouts for female boxers: Duduzile Kamkwamba faces Eneles Nkhwathi while Ruth Chisale fights Lucy Phiri. n
