Saintfiet lodged a complaint to Fifa against Keshi after the former Super Eagles captain referred to him as a ‘white dude’.

According to a report carried by the Nigerian Star, Keshi said he is hoping that FAM will withdraw the case in the spirit of sportmanship.

FAM chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda confirmed having been contacted on the issue by Keshi.

“He [Keshi]called me last weekend to ask if there is a way we can sort out the issue amicably, but I told him that it would need Tom’s consent.

“We only facilitated the complaint on behalf of Tom as an association. Otherwise; it is between the two of them,” said Nyirenda.

Apparently, Keshi is facing a race against time as he was given up until September 19 to come up with a detailed response to Saintfiet’s query by Fifa.

Keshi was expected to appear before the NFF earlier this week to give his detailed side of the story.

He faces a minimum of five-match ban should he be found guilty.
