Malawi national football team and Polokwane City striker Khuda Muyaba on Wednesday scored his 6th league goal to boost his dreams of winning the Golden Boot Award.

Khuda scored a beauty, it was a header outside the 18-yard box, to give his side the lead in the 32nd minute before Cassius Thopola hammered the last nail on Bizana Pondo Chiefs coffin in the 40th minute to seal an away win.

Wednesday’s victory moved Polokwane to position 11 from 12 in the GladAfrica Championship and they have 30 points from 24 games.

Khuda is topping the scoring chart for his club.

Khuda: I want to score more goals

“It is good that I scored but not that good because I want to score more goals to win the golden boot. My target is to score 20 goals this season,” he said in an interview yesterday.

Lesvin Stoffels of Steenberg United, Monnapule Saleng of Free State Stars and Moeketsi Sekola are topping the goal-scorers’ chart with 10 goals each.

On Saturday Khuda will have another chance when his side face JDR Stars at Soshanguve Giant Stadium.
